ELITE have both male and female fully qualified driving instructors providing driving both manual and automatic driving lessons in the Redhill, Reigate, Horsham, Crawley and Dorking area of Surrey and surrounding areas. All of our instructors teach people how to be safe and competent drivers, not just how to pass the test. However, they all have expert knowledge of the Reigate test centre test routes and training areas, and as a result have a pass rate far above the national average. We always have great introductory offers to welcome new pupils, plus great ongoing deals on further blocks of 5 or 10 hours of driving lessons.

Beginner Driving Lessons in Redhill, Dorking, Godstone and the Surrounding Areas
For complete beginners to start driving lessons in Redhill and Reigate there are several quiet areas that are ideal, including Waterlow Road close to Redhill Common, Linkfield Lane to the North of town, Hanworth Road in Salfords, and the Crescent Road in South Park, which is close to the test centre in Reigate. These areas are great roads for your instructor to start you on as they are usually quiet. Once the basics have been covered in the first lesson, the area covered can gradually be expanded as confidence, knowledge and ability grows to introduce the more challenging topics on the syllabus.
Redhill and Reigate also has many suitable roads where our driving instructors can give lessons to teach the manoeuvres. Normally the first manoeuvre to be tackled is the turn-in-the-road exercise (commonly known as the three-point turn). This would normally be covered in driving lesson 3 or 4 to help develop coordination between the foot controls and steering. Good roads for this include Church Road, Tolgate Avenue and Blanford Road. Then the corner reverse is usually covered in the 6th or 7th lesson, and roads commonly used for this are the junction of Sandcross Lane and Baron's Way, Kingsley Grove and Orchard Way, or The Chase and Sussex Close.
For these lessons there are several routes that incorporate driving around roundabouts, starting from the small mini roundabout on Woodhatch Road by Reigate School, to the two-lane roundabouts around Redhill town centre, growing to the gyratory spiral roundabouts around Hookwood, Horley and Crawley. You will also have lessons on how to deal with the one-way systems of Redhill and Reigate town centres.
You will probably start learning about road junctions from the very first driving lesson, but as you progress you will be taught how to tackle more complex junctions around Redhill and Reigate such as the Woodhatch crossroads, emerging from Blackborough Road onto Hatchlands Roads, plus turning onto and off of the A23 Brighton Road.
Once you have dealt with junctions and are confident in gear changes and making good progress, your instructor will then gradually introduce you to faster roads, and then to dual carriageways such as the A217 Reigate Road to Gatwick or A23 towards Croydon or Crawley.
Our driving instructors normally recommend pupils take two-hour lessons as they are far more productive that just one hour at a time, as more repetition can take place on each topic, and topics can seamlessly merge into each other rather than the student having to recap and warm up at the start of each lesson. However, we will accommodate single-hour, one-and-a-half hour, or intensive driving lessons in the Redhill and Reigate area to suit an individual's needs and requirements.
