Alain Frimigacci (Automatic)

Hi, my name is Alain,

When I arrived in London in 1994 to finish my master in British & American Civilisation and Literature I firmly intended to return to France to become an English teacher, however I met my lovely wife here and settled in the UK for all those years instead.

Because when I was a child I suffered from motion sickness I would never read a book in the car, so to kill the time during those long journeys on the roads of New Caledonia, where I grew up, I used to watch my dad drive, looking at the road ahead and imagining I was driving the car, and it didn’t take long before I was sitting on his lap aged 5 steering the car on private roads. This was it, I was hooked! I guess it is in the genes as my dad’s mother herself was a successful professional rally car driver winning countless trophies.

So I suppose combining my vocation for teaching with my passion for driving made it the next logical step for me to become a driving instructor, so this is with this in mind that I ended a 20 year career in the travel industry.

I strongly believe that driving should be a pleasurable activity and not a chore that one dreads and the key to this is that one must be a safe and confident driver. I make it my mission to transfer that to my pupils.

It might also be worth noting that I have been driving around Sutton, Cheam, Morden ect for over 12 years and know those roads like the back of my hand.
Outside of driving I enjoy chess, skiing, cooking and travelling to name just a few hobbies.

“I recently had several “refresher” lessons with Alain Frimigacci in his automatic Fiesta. My licence was withheld by DVLA in December 2023 due to an eyesight problem. I appealed and was recently booked into QEF assessment centre in Carshalton where today I underwent some medical tests, questions, aptitude tests and on-road driving assessment in the Banstead, Sutton and Carshalton areas.”
