Hi I’m Doug,

Joining Ian and the team has given me the opportunity to build on a strong foundation built from years of experience working within the automotive industry.

This background has given me a deep understanding of vehicles, road safety, and real-world driving conditions.

Having spent much of my career around cars and drivers, I’ve developed not only technical knowledge but also a calm, patient approach to supporting others. I understand that learning to drive can feel daunting, so I focus on creating a relaxed and encouraging environment where learners can build confidence at their own pace.

I’ve lived in the Worthing area for nearly 30 years, after growing up in West London and Wales, so I have strong local knowledge of the roads and test routes. I’m married, with two daughters and two grandsons, and family is a big part of my life—something that has helped shape my patient, supportive teaching style.

My goal is simple: to help every student become a safe, capable, and confident driver for life—not just to pass their test. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, I’m committed to guiding you every step of the way with clear instruction, practical advice, and genuine support.
